All the best Guides are
excellent teachers Who can tremendously
increase your knowledge base. There is always something new to
learn! I have learned something new with every client and I, in turn
, pass it on. It can be as simple as a better way to
explain a new or old technique, a new knot or fly pattern that
works, from
somewhere else in the country . Learning should be a two way
street.
I spend over 140 days a year on the water
guiding! That is the only way to really KNOW the
water! How else can you know the best
patterns, the most productive runs, riffles, and pools? On
every float or wade I gain some useful insight about the
Fishery. This allows me to pass on a tremendous
amount of knowledge and expertise to clients that just isn't
available to them any other way.

You should look for the guide traits listed
above in any guide you hire. If you find them you'll have
yourself an Excellent Guide!
Hiring a Professional guide is money well
spent!
