The MARIAH
At this time, I produce two designs. The high performance,
low volume, and highly efficient hulled Mahogany touring kayak.
"THE MARIAH"--The only thing
faster is the wind!!!" She is 16' 2"
in length, 25 " beam, 26 lbs. I can paddle her at 4.5
knots with little effort! She is agile and quick, the design
lends it's self to an easy Eskimo roll.

The deck and hull are made of 3 mm. mahogany plywood encapsulated
with epoxy resin. The hull has a keelson added to provide
strength and tracking. The seat and foot brace are mounted
to the keelson. The deck has eight coats of spar varnish.
The hull is painted white for visibility and to accent the
deck. There is a water-tight compartment behind the seat with
a 6-inch access port. You can customize your kayak by choosing
it's name to be embossed.
I have researched for 3 years looking for the best design
to build. In my wildest dreams I couldn't be more happy with
this crafts performance or beauty!!! There is no comparison
between this mahogany kayak and a plastic boat. This is a
custom hand-crafted kayak, each one having it's own unique
beauty, having been created from a living thing. The last
time plastic was alive was 450,000,000 years ago!!
The basic price for this kayak $2500.00 plus 5% sales tax
for Maine residents. Shipping not included. $500 non-refundable
deposit is required when the order is placed. Because this
is custom work, I require 6--8 weeks to complete each kayak.
The GREENLANDER
| This is a high-performance wood and canvas hard chine design.
I also hand--craft these kayaks. You can choose 14 ft. or
16 ft. The 14 footer is ideal for women and children --up
to 165 lbs. . Our 7 yr. old daughter paddles it comfortably,
and my wife also uses it. To the right, my 10 yr. old son
in the 14 ft. model. The customer can choose the colors .
The 16 foot model suits the medium to larger paddler. |
